CREATIVE ARTS CENTER ANNOUNCES BLUE PLATE SPECIAL

Fundraiser to Be First Look at Home Built from 14 Shipping Containers

 

Event:  The Creative Arts Center of Dallas (CAC), a nonprofit visual arts school and community arts center geared to beginning, emerging and working artists has announced its Blue Plate Special fundraiser. 

 

Chaired by Todd Hedrick with Linda & David Hickman serving as Honorary Chairs, the event will be held at the architecturally significant home built from 14 shipping containers overlooking both downtown Dallas and White Rock Lake which will be on the A.I.A. tour in November. The night will featuring cool jazz, sumptuous food, signature drinks and a silent auction highlighted by artist-designed ceramic plates paired with fabulous gifts and gift certificates.  Attire is artsy cocktail. 

 

When:  Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 7pm to 10pm

Background:       Cultivating creativity for nearly 50 years, CAC is a dynamic arts organization and a thriving arts community for a diverse range of students from teenagers to senior citizens interested in pursuing a variety of artistic mediums. More than 500 classes and workshops are offered each year in jewelry making, glass, painting, stone carving, mosaic, welded sculpture, photography, printmaking, drawing, ceramics and clay sculpture. Instructors include well-known artists and educators whose works are in public and private collections.

 

CAC believes that through the creative process we build stronger communities helping people re-imagine their world.   Current outreach programs, including Camp MetalHead, unseenamerica, ArtAbility and Art as a Second Language, allow challenged or underserved children, teens and adults build their creative confidence, transforming lives along the way.  CAC ensures not only quality instruction, but inspiration and support for beginning, emerging and established artists.
