(SMART SUMMARY) plus, I didn t want to create a piece that distracted too much from the simple beauty of the dress itself.  This is one of those times when I had to consult with my fellow designers to get some ideas.  Karla had already done her earrings and I really liked the dark indigo she used and thought the pearls were perfect for the dress.  While I was pulling the night blue pearls, I realized the platinum pearls looked really nice as well, so I sat staring at both colors in various sizes on my bead mat for a while to no avail.  Then I talked to Kelly, who suggested I do a cool woven cocktail style ring and it was as if she flipped a switch in my head!  I had done right angle weave rings before, but never where I graduated the size of the beads out

(SMART SUMMARY) great for mom s with more than one child As I said earlier, Susie has three children: Adam, Clint and Courtney.  There is a traditional way to do a mommy bracelet for women who have more than one child and it involves spacer bars and multi-strand clasps and can be a bit of a headache, especially if each child s name is a different length (as Susie s are).  I came up with what I think is a fun solution: a memory wire bracelet!  This way, you can cut the number of coils you need and have the colors flow around the coil with the names being highlighted in the front so mom can glance at her wrist and see her pride and joy spelled out for her.  I did Susie s bracelet in birth order because the colors flow nicely, but if you have a mom whose kid

(SMART SUMMARY) Shanna: I chose this dress because of the lace overlay.  I have always been a fan of lace and love how it adds a romantic, vintage feel to almost anything.  Because the neckline on this dress is very intricate with scalloped edging and floral detail, I opted not to do a necklace.  Her arms looked pretty bare to me, so I thought a wide woven bracelet using pearls was in order.  At first, I wanted to do a sort of ombre fade effect, but after playing with color a bit, I realized it was just too much.  Knowing I wanted to do either a flat spiral or a right angle weave technique using beading wire to make a wide vintage inspired bracelet, I decided to create a piece that was heavy on design but light on color.  To achieve this look, I opted fo
