Coppell Cowgirl Volleyball Spring Clinic 2020
Session I - March 16, 23, 30, April 6, 13, and 20 (Mondays)
AND/OR
Session II - March 18, 25, April 1, 8, 15, and 22 (Wednesdays)
for current 1st - 6th graders
@ Coppell Middle School North
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

We are hosting a 6-week volleyball clinic that is starting the week after Spring Break, to be held at Coppell Middle School North from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on one night each week.  In an effort to work with whatever other extracurricular activities your daughter is involved in, you can choose for your daughter to attend Session I on Monday nights or Session II on Wednesday nights.  The clinic will be coached by our Coppell High School and Middle School coaches, as well as many of our former CHS volleyball players.

The focus of this clinic is skill development and play opportunity.  For the first hour of each session, we will work on skill development through a variety of instruction and drills.  In the second hour, the kids will be divided onto teams for competitive game situations and controlled scrimmages.

The clinic is designed to help each player individually get better, so the courts will be divided based on skill and ability (and not necessarily by age).  We will evaluate on the first night for the first hour, and then we will split the girls onto courts by varying skill for the second hour.  There might be some movement from court to court as we get to know the girls and continue to assess their evolving skills, but for the most part, they will stay on that court for the duration of the clinic . In this way, we can tailor the instruction on each court to the approximate ability of that group and create a challenging experience for each child.

For those of you who are parents of a 6th grader who has the opportunity to participate in 7th grade athletics in the next school year - I strongly encourage your daughter to play some volleyball this coming spring and summer to prepare for volleyball tryouts in the fall!  It certainly doesn't have to be at our clinic - there are other opportunities that many of our kiddos participate in - this is just a local option for your daughter to get touches on the ball with our shared goal to have them more prepared for 7th grade tryouts.
