Did you know that the best month for home buying is October?  The fall selling season is popular for many reasons.  Stunning fall foliage creates the perfect backdrop to showcase your home and the cool, crisp weather is a welcome respite from the heat of the summer.  To entice buyers, increasing your curb appeal is a must.  If you’re thinking of selling this fall, here are a few tips to add instant curb appeal to your home.

Add Some Annuals

The addition of some annual flowers is a small price to pay for curb appeal.  A few potted plants, vibrant window box displays, and neat flower beds is all it takes.  Fall flowers such as chrysanthemums and pansies add pops of color, while ornamental kale and cabbage will stand up especially well into the colder months.   As Halloween and Thanksgiving approach, consider adding some pumpkins, gourds, or Indian corn for even more seasonal appeal.

Watch Some Paint Dry

Nothing does more to brighten up a space than a fresh coat of paint.  Touch up your front door, window frames, shutters, and railings to make everything look clean and new again.  Don’t forget to leave ample time for drying!

Storage

A well-kept lawn is a must for curb appeal.  Go beyond the usual mowing and weeding by investing in a storage box or small shed.  This way you can keep garden tools, children’s toys, and other outdoor items out of sight for showings, but still have them easily accessible.

If you’re ready to put your home on the market, give me a call.  I’ll work with you to ensure a smooth process and great return on your home value.
