The Aurora Health and Wellness Center at Norterre is proud to announce the launch of the MX4 Training System. Led by specially certified instructors, the MX4 program addresses multiple aspects of fitness – cardio, power, strength and endurance – giving attendees a complete workout experience. The program can be modified to suit members of all ability levels and can be scaled to accommodate small or large groups. MX4 combines Matrix-exclusive equipment with original turnkey programming to create a signature group exercise experience that members will invest in and commit to more frequently.

“To remain on the forefront of creating inspiring fitness experiences, we always strive to recognize and embrace industry trends to meet the needs of our members,” said Melissa Ohara, Chief Operating Officer of Norterre. “MX4 is the latest innovation that will enable us to positively impact member engagement and address the expanding popularity of group training. The MX4 Training System is flexible, scalable, and the most innovative group training portfolio in the market. MX4 allows us to create a truly unique, multi-modality training experience.”

The core foundation of the MX4 Small Group Training classes is designed utilizing the Connexus Functional Trainer and select cardio products. Instructors set up and program a dynamic small group class by integrating functional training tools including TRX suspension trainer, Dynamax soft shell medicine ball, flat circular bands, kettlebells, landmine and battle ropes. The course has been accredited by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, the American Council on Exercise and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

“The MX4 Small Group Training classes were developed to allow our trainers at The Aurora to deliver unique small group training experiences while removing the burden of constantly having to create new workouts,” said Ron Gochee, General Manager of The Aurora Health & Wellness Center. “This allows our trainers to spend more time coaching, encouraging and guiding class participants to help them get the results they desire. MX4 programming is made up of easily scalable total-body workouts that integrate best-in-class functional training accessories. Participants receive the direction, accountability and motivation they need to get results. The Aurora is no ordinary gym, in fact it’s like working out in resort surroundings.”

The Aurora Health & Wellness Center opened earlier this year and is considered the cornerstone of the Norterre community. The Aurora features unique programming and activities – including more than 100 classes per week – to create the ultimate wellness destination in the Northland. Amenities include an indoor running and walking track, four levels of yoga, group cycling, stretching areas, high-impact studio, warm water exercise, indoor therapy and lap pools, salon and spa services, massage and other therapy treatments as well as a demonstration kitchen emphasizing healthy food preparation and nutrition. Surrounded with original artwork throughout the three levels of fitness and exercise, a grand piano greets members in a two-story reception area. A healthy bistro is available with grab-and-go options and menu items designed to promote heart-healthy and sound nutritional habits.

Memberships range from $69 per month for individuals, $89 for couples, and $109 per month for families. Currently, the enrollment fee is being waived for new members (a value of $100). For membership inquiries, please call 816-479-8930 or go online to norterre.org.
