GMNP Trail Map 11-2008 8x11

The George Mitchell Nature Preserve serves up some great hiking options within the boundaries of The Woodlands. The trailhead is located at 5171 Flintridge Drive and offers three miles of single-tract bike trails and a wider two mile loop for hiking. The bike trail is made from sustainable tracks by Talon Trails while the hiking trails are simply worn, natural trails. The wider two-mile loop trail will lead to the Bedias Lake trails, which border a small lake inside the preserve.

Over in the Village of Creekside Park, there is another group of trails for hiking and bird watching. Both sides of the preserve account for 1,700 acres of a 12,000-acre planned green-space called the Spring Creek Greenway.

The Spring Creek Greenway will, once completed, connect and protect up to 12,000 acres of forest on both sides of Spring Creek. The land allocated for the project spans from Spring Creek Park located west of Highway 249 to just east of I-59 in the 312 acre Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center.
