Village of Grogan’s Mill

The Village of Grogan’s Mill was established in 1974 and was the first neighborhood in The Woodlands. Similar to Cochran’s Crossing, it too was named after the Grogan-Cochran Lumber Mill. Today, Grogan’s Mill occupies the land south of Town Center and the East Shore.

Recreation

Grogan’s Mill is home to twelve parks with various amenities. The only park with a pool in Grogan’s Mill is located at Sawmill Park. The park pool is a sprayground, a favorite for the little ones as there are plenty of things to play with to keep them busy. The park also features a volleyball court, lighted basketball court, and one baseball/softball field. There’s a play area for the kids, picnic tables, a covered pavilion and five lighted tennis courts. Besides Sawmill Park, Tamarac Park features a dog-friendly play area as well as a wheel-friendly skate/bmx park. Millbend Linear Park also features a jogging track and is located off N. Millbend Drive.

Beyond local public parks, Grogan’s Mill is home to the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center with nearly endless amenities. Additionally, there are a few golf courses including The Oaks and the Tournament Course which are part of The Woodlands Country Club.

Shopping

The Village of Grogan’s Mill has one shopping center located at the intersection of Grogan’s Mill and South Millbend Drive. This shopping center is anchored by a Randall’s Supermarket, and contains a Becks Prime, Brothers Pizza, Fuddrucker’s, Chef Chan’s Chinese Food, Woodforest National Bank and other shops and restaurants. There is also a Farmer’s Market open every Saturday from 8am to noon at 7 Switchbud Place, which is in the same area as the shopping center.

Schools

There are a number of schools within the Grogan’s Mill Village. Elementary schools include Hailey and Lamar, while Wilkerson Intermediate and Knox Junior High are also located here. There are also various pre-school and day care centers available in this and surrounding villages.

Age and Price Range

There are over 5,000 homes within Grogan’s Mill and most were built between 1974 and 2014. Home prices range anywhere from the low to mid 100’s to the multi-millions.
