Best Place to Live in Texas

According to a new article posted by Nerdwallet.com, The Woodlands was ranked as the “Best Place to Live in Texas.” While there are many wonderful places in Texas that one could call home, we couldn’t agree more with the assessment.

The list specified the criteria upon which the cities were ranked. Crime data contributed to 30% of the score. Housing and Demographics including homeownership rates, unemployment rates and median commute times contributed to 40% of the score. Education was addressed with the help of the Schooldigger.com and contributed to 20% of the score and the Walk Score contributed to 10% of the score.

The Woodlands easily passed with high scores for education, low crime and unemployment rates. While the site did take note of the longer commute times, they also noted the proximity to activities and parks such as the Sam Houston National Forest that helped outweigh the demerits.

Here’s the top 10 cities on the list:

1. The Woodlands
2. Allen
3. Frisco
4. Sugar Land
5. McKinney
6. Pearland
7. Plano
8. League City
9. Missouri City

Other notable Texas cities:
