The Piper, a unique assisted living and memory support community, today announced its newest concept offering for elders who may need a higher level of assisted living care to manage medical concerns – Physician-Directed Nursing Household.
In the physician-directed nursing household, physicians will be on-call 24/7, in addition to making rounds twice a month and attending monthly care plan meetings with family members and The Piper’s care team. Both home health and hospice care is available with a preferred provider, and special services to address medical issues, including but not limited to, insulin and diabetic management, wound care, oxygen therapy, medication management, ostomy care and nutrition guidance, are available.
“At The Piper, we are committed to changing the perception of senior living, and we believe our new physician-directed nursing household is another step in that direction,” said Steve Shields, CEO of Action Pact and Managing Partner of The Piper. “Our innovative household model is already a differentiator in the market, and now we have enhanced our offering with a personalized, stepped-up level of care that will give families peace of mind when it’s time to move a loved one into assisted living.”
The Piper includes six households, with three dedicated to assisted living, two devoted to memory care and the latest, Strawberry Hill, reserved for physician-directed nursing. Within each household, up to 20 elders live in private residences and share an open kitchen, dining room, living room and intimate spaces to relax and visit, much like you would find in any family home. Residents choose when to eat and sleep and how to spend their day. Each household is staffed 24/7 by highly skilled and consistent team members who get to know the residents and help them remain the architects of their daily lives.
