Family and friends will be walking in memory of Arlington resident Maddie Higgins at the 9th annual Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk on November 8th. Last year was the first year Team Maddie participated in the National Brain Tumor event. Their team of 89+ members raised $6,663 and ranked sixth in fundraising out of 181 teams that participated in the event.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk connects brain tumor survivors, patients, family members, caregivers, and friends for an inspiring, family-friendly fundraising walk. Proceeds raised at the event go toward funding critical brain tumor research and raising vital awareness of the disease.

Sharing Hope - 2013 Brain Tumor Walk

North Richland Hills resident and brain tumor survivor, Shannon Bruce, will be raising funds for the 9th annual Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk on November 8th. Her team, Sharing Hope, has participated in the event since 2007, and has raised over $65,000 for the National Brain Tumor Society.  Shannon has consistently been a top fundraiser for the DFW Walk and is an inspiration to the brain tumor community.

National Brain Tumor Society is pleased to announce that Psycho Shanon of KISS FM and the KIDD Kraddick in the Morning Show will be participating in the Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk on Saturday, November 8th.

As a recent brain tumor survivor, Shanon has joined forces with the National Brain Tumor Society and will be walking with the organization for the first time. She is hoping to increase awareness and inspire the DFW brain tumor community to fundraise for a cure.

Allen resident, Sara Warner, will be serving as Chair of the 9th annual Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk on Saturday, November 8th at Trinity Park in Fort Worth, Texas. Sara has been involved with the National Brain Tumor Society walk since 2007, after losing her brother Geff to a brain tumor. As captain of Team Warner, she stands out as one of the top individual fundraisers year after year and has raised over $15,000 for NBTS in the past seven years.
