Brian McAvoy is a PMHNP-BC, APRN ANCC board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Science in Nursing degree. His scope of practice includes mental health evaluations, diagnosing mental health disorders, prescribing medications, medication management, and performing psychotherapy sessions.
He is experienced with diagnosing and treating depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder. His psychiatric experience includes seeing patients in outpatient clinics, private practices, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. He is well versed in trauma informed care, holding a certification in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
