William C. Head (also known as Bubba Head) is Board Certified in DUI - criminal defense by NCDD.com. He is known to his friends as “Bubba”. He started the first Internet Directory specifically for DUI defense attorneys in 1999, and still helps other attorneys with their legal marketing. He started the first NHTSA-based training course for attorneys in 1994. That same year, he hosted the first Mastering Scientific Evidence (MSE) Program in Atlanta. As an offshoot of that first MSE meeting, he invited a dozen top DUI attorneys from across the USA (including the late Reese Joye and the late Richard Essen) to join him in organizing the first Board of Regents of the National College for DUI Defense in 1995. He has authored or co-authored twelve books, chapters of other books, and numerous articles on criminal trial practice and DUI defense trial tactics. Mr. Head is "av" rated with Martindale-Hubbell and has been named to its Pre-Eminent List of Law Firms for over 20 years. His published books include 101 Ways to Avoid a Drunk Driving Conviction (co-authored with Reese I. Joye, Jr. in 1991), and the Georgia DUI Trial Practice Manual, now published by Thomson/West Publishing, annual updates from 2000-2018; now co-authored with Frank T. Gomez. One recent book,The DUI Book, published in 2006, is a manual for clients facing a DUI prosecution. In 2003, the members of the National College for DUI Defense named Mr. Head America’s Top DUI lawyer. Mr. Head's Law Firm has been named to Best Law Firms in America by U.S. News & World Report since 2010. Mr. Head was named by Best Lawyers in America as Atlanta’s Top DUI Attorney in 2012 and for 2017. Super Lawyers has named Mr. Head to its Georgia list every year since publication started, including 2018. For over TWO decades, Mr. Head has been a "Life Member" status of NACDL & GACDL.
