Dr. Michael Schopis is a compassionate and highly rated gastroenterologist and attending physician at Manhattan Gastroenterology. Dr. Schopis is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a proud member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACGG) and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE). Dr. Schopis has received numerous honors and awards throughout his medical training. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelors of Science in Nutrition from Ohio State University. He then received the Dean’s Scholarship and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) which is the national medical honor society from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. During his residency and fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Monetifiore Medical Center, he received awards as Outstanding House Officer.

Dr.Schopis and his impressive academic accomplishments along with his strong passion for patient care have earned him an excellent reputation in NYC. Dr. Schopis has frequently published in medical literature and has presented abstracts and presentations in gastroenterology. As a practicing gastroenterologist, Dr. Schopis has a special interest in prevention, colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, and irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, GERD, hemorrhoid treatment and celiac disease.
